Number of Countries: 54 This continent has a wide range of temperatures. From mild at the bottom and top to quite warm in the center. It is also home to more than 7,000 different types of mammals, fish and birds. There are more than 100,000 types of insects as well. The continent is over 11 million square miles. The highest point is Mount Kilimanjaro. The lowest point is Lake Assal. Three of the most known areas are: Sahara Desert, Ngorongoro Crater, and the Nile River. |

Number of Countries: 0 Antarctica has the harshest weather of any continent. Temperatures drop to -130 degrees in some parts. It is also extremely dry so it is considered a desert region. The highest point is Mount Vinson and the lowest point is Bentley Subglacial Trench. It is also know for being home to the south pole. Almost all of the continent is covered in snow and ice. Penguins, seals, albatross and nine types of whales call this home. Almost all of the animals live near the coast. |

Number of Countries: 48 Asia is the only continent to share a country with another country. It shares Russia with Europe. North Asia is known for its very cold weather. It has ice and snow most of the time. China is the largest country of East Asia. Central Asia is home to mostly Russia and other countries that farm goats and sheep. South Asia is also called the Middle East. It is located near Africa. The last region is the southeast region. This area is mostly islands and gets mostly rain. It grows most of the rice the world eats. People on this continent speak so many different languages it would be hard to list them all! The highest point is Mount Everest. The lowest point is the Dead Sea Shore. Asia is also known for the Gobi Desert, Son Doong Cave, and Himalayas. |

Number of Countries: 3 Australia is often known as the island continent because of it being the smallest continent. It has over 5,700 different types of animals and 80% of those(or almost all) are unique to just Australia(can't be found other places). It is also home to the Great Barrier Reef. The highest point is Mount Kosciuszko and lowest point is Lake Eyre. A fun fact: there are more sheep living in Australia than people! |

This continent has the oldest history out of all the continents. Part of Russia is included in this continent and the rest is considered in Asia. The highest point is Mount Elbrus and the lowest is the Caspian Sea Shore. |

Number of Countries: 23 This continent includes: Canada, United States, Greenland, Mexico and all of the Latin American countries below Mexico. The weather is different in all the regions. It changes from very cold to very hot. Some of the most widely known areas on this continent are the Grand Canyon, Niagara Falls and Old Faithful. It has many different mountain ranges, lakes, deserts and rivers. A neat fact: Bristlecone Pines are the oldest kinds of trees and can be found in North America. |

Over 70% of the worlds animals and plants call the rainforest home. The highest point is Aconcagua and the lowest is Laguna del Carbon. Some of the most known areas are Iguazu Falls, Galapagos Islands(famous for the Galapagos turtles), and the Atacama Desert |
