We're wild about animals!
Animals are amazing to look at, but even better to learn about! Our class is going to create our own zoo! And you are going to be the zookeepers!
Zookeepers are important to animals. They have a HUGE responsibility to know all about the animals that he/she takes care off. In order to know about the animals they must research what they eat, if they hunt, where they live, what's special about them, what it looks like and much, much, more!
Now, I need you to become an expert for our Second Grade Zoo!
Task 1 - Research
Your first task is to learn all about your animal. Using the websites below, or any other websites your teacher has provided, you will look up facts and write the information on a research page.
Task 2 - Create Your Zoo Exhibit Sign and Paragraph
Your teacher will give you your exhibit sign to fill out. This sign will displayed with your zoo exhibit diorama to give visitors more information about the animal you chose. Then you will create your paragraph that will be used for your presentation.
Task 3 - Diorama
The diorama needs to show what your animal's habitat looks like and have at least ONE of your chosen animal in it. It can include other animals that also live in the habitat. This diorama will be your exhibit at the zoo.
Task 4 - Presentation
Before the zoo is open to the public, you will present your diorama and research to the class. Your goal is to educate the rest of the class all about your animal so that they know more about it. After the presentations the zoo will be put on display for the school to visit.
